التحضير

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm water, milk, and melted butter, and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. For the filling, combine grated coconut, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and red food coloring in a separate bowl.
  3. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  4. Spread the coconut filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
  5. Tightly roll the dough from the long side and pinch the ends to seal the filling. Place the roll into a greased baking pan.
  6. Let the salara rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the salara for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is soft.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
