Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, beaten egg, and melted butter. Mix to form a dough, then knead on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling: In a small bowl, combine grated cheese, mayonnaise, and parsley (if using).
  5. After rising, punch down the dough gently and divide into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape.
  6. Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the cheese filling onto the center of each oval. Fold the long sides over the filling and pinch the ends firmly to seal and form a roll.
  7. Place the cheese rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Serve hot.
