Ingredients
- 250g 250g all-purpose flour
- 1 Teelöffel 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 2 EL 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 Teelöffel 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 120ml 120ml warm milk
- 1 1 egg, beaten
- 2 EL 2 tbsp melted butter
- 150g 150g cheddar cheese, grated
- 2 EL 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 EL 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm milk, beaten egg, and melted butter. Mix to form a dough, then knead on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling: In a small bowl, combine grated cheese, mayonnaise, and parsley (if using).
- After rising, punch down the dough gently and divide into 6 equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape.
- Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the cheese filling onto the center of each oval. Fold the long sides over the filling and pinch the ends firmly to seal and form a roll.
- Place the cheese rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve hot.
