- 3 Tassen all-purpose flour
- ¼ Tasse granulated sugar
- 1 Päckchen (7g) active dry yeast
- ½ Teelöffel salt
- ¾ Tasse warm water
- ¼ Tasse milk
- 2 Esslöffel melted butter
- 2 Tassen grated coconut
- ½ Tasse brown sugar
- 1 Teelöffel vanilla extract
- Ein paar Tropfen red food coloring
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt. Add warm water, milk, and melted butter, and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- For the filling, combine grated coconut, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and red food coloring in a separate bowl.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the coconut filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.
- Tightly roll the dough from the long side and pinch the ends to seal the filling. Place the roll into a greased baking pan.
- Let the salara rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Bake the salara for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is soft.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
