  5. On a lightly floured surface, divide the dough into 8-10 equal pieces and roll into flat round or oval shapes (about 1/2 cm thick).
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or skillet over medium heat (about 170-175°C / 340-350°F).
  7. Carefully place the dough discs into the hot oil and fry in batches.
  8. Fry until golden brown and puffed, flipping once.
  9. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  10. Serve hot, often sliced open and filled.
