  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Place the grated cassava in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out as much excess liquid as possible. Transfer to a large bowl.
  3. Add coconut milk, brown sugar, melted butter, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and vanilla extract to the cassava. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Add raisins if desired.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 70-80 minutes, or until the pone is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before serving. Cut into squares.
