Ingredients
- 200g Short-grain rice
- 1 Liter Whole milk
- 200g Sweetened condensed milk
- 100g Granulated sugar
- 1 Stange Cinnamon stick
- 1 Prise Salt
- 1 Lemon zest (grated)
- 1 Teelöffel Vanilla extract
- Optional: gemahlener Zimt zum Bestreuen Optional: ground cinnamon for dusting
Instructions
- Rinse the rice thoroughly until the water runs clear.
- In a large saucepan, combine milk, rinsed rice, cinnamon stick, lemon zest, and salt.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the rice is tender and the milk has thickened. Be careful not to burn it.
- Add sugar and sweetened condensed milk and simmer for another 5-10 minutes, until the desired consistency is reached.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat, discard the cinnamon stick and lemon zest. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Serve the rice pudding warm or cold. Optionally dust with ground cinnamon.
