Ingredients
- 1 (23 cm) 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
- 2 mittelgroße 2 medium sweet potatoes (about 700g)
- 1/2 Tasse 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 Tasse 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 Tasse 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 Tasse 1/4 cup melted butter
- 2 2 large eggs
- 1 Teelöffel 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 Teelöffel 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 Teelöffel 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 Teelöffel 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 Prise 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into large chunks. Boil in salted water for about 15-20 minutes until very tender. Drain and let cool completely.
- Mash the cooled sweet potatoes in a large bowl or pass through a potato ricer until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). To the bowl with mashed sweet potatoes, add milk, sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Mix well until a smooth filling is formed.
- Pour the sweet potato filling into the unbaked pie crust and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until the filling is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the crust begins to brown too quickly, cover with aluminum foil.
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely before serving. It's delicious warm or chilled.
