  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease an oven-safe dish (approx. 24 cm diameter) with butter.
  2. Spread the cherries evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the mixture is light and frothy.
  4. Gradually whisk in the flour until no lumps remain.
  5. Stir in the milk and melted butter until a smooth batter forms.
  6. Carefully pour the batter over the cherries in the dish.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes, or until the clafoutis is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove the clafoutis from the oven and let it cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.
