Chocolate Bread
Pain au Chocolat is a classic French pastry made from puff pastry and two sticks of dark chocolate. It's sweet, buttery, and has a wonderfully airy texture, perfect for a French breakfast.

Ingredients
- 1 Roll of puff pastry (store-bought)
- 8 Sticks of dark chocolate (approx. 10g per stick)
- 1 Egg (beaten)
- 1 EL Milk (optional, for brushing)
- 1 Prise Salt
- 2 EL Sugar (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) conventional heat.
- Unroll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 8 equal rectangles.
- Place one chocolate stick on the bottom edge of each rectangle, roll once, then place the second chocolate stick on top and roll completely.
- Place the Pain au Chocolat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the beaten egg (mixed with a little milk if desired) over the pastries.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and puffed up.
- Optionally sprinkle with a little sugar and serve warm.
