Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and add the buttermilk. Mix well.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk or use a hand mixer to combine into a smooth batter, ensuring no lumps remain. The batter should be thick.
  4. Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes to allow the baking powder to activate, which will make the pancakes extra fluffy.
  5. Heat a large pan over medium heat and melt the butter in it. For each pancake, add about 2-3 tablespoons of batter to the pan and lightly flatten to form small, round pancakes.
  6. Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Grease the pan with a little more butter if needed.
  7. Arrange the finished buttermilk pancakes on plates and serve immediately with applesauce and a dusting of powdered sugar.
