Ingredients
- 250 g All-purpose flour
- 1 Päckchen Baking powder
- 1 Prise Salt
- 30 g Sugar
- 2 Eggs (medium)
- 400 ml Buttermilk
- 2 EL Butter
- 400 g Applesauce
- 1 TL Powdered sugar
Instructions
- In a large bowl, thoroughly mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs and add the buttermilk. Mix well.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk or use a hand mixer to combine into a smooth batter, ensuring no lumps remain. The batter should be thick.
- Let the batter rest for about 10 minutes to allow the baking powder to activate, which will make the pancakes extra fluffy.
- Heat a large pan over medium heat and melt the butter in it. For each pancake, add about 2-3 tablespoons of batter to the pan and lightly flatten to form small, round pancakes.
- Cook the pancakes for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Grease the pan with a little more butter if needed.
- Arrange the finished buttermilk pancakes on plates and serve immediately with applesauce and a dusting of powdered sugar.
