  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease an oven-safe dish (approx. 23 cm diameter) with melted butter and scatter the cherries in it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and frothy.
  3. Add the flour, salt, milk, cream, and vanilla extract, whisking until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
  4. Carefully pour the batter over the cherries in the prepared dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, or until the clafoutis is golden brown and a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. The clafoutis will be slightly wobbly in the center but will set as it cools.
  6. Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
