Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef against the grain into thin pieces. For optimal tenderness, freeze the meat for 30 minutes before slicing.
  2. For the marinade, combine the grated Asian pear, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, brown sugar, sesame seeds, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Add the beef slices to the marinade and mix well, ensuring each piece is coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, ideally 2-4 hours, to deepen the flavor.
  4. Preheat a grill or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add a little oil if your pan is not non-stick.
  5. Place the marinated beef in a single layer on the pan or grill. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Sear each side for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned and cooked to your desired doneness. The beef cooks very quickly, so be careful not to overcook it.
  7. Serve the finished Korean BBQ immediately, garnished with fresh green onions. It pairs wonderfully with rice and various banchan (Korean side dishes).
