Ingredients
- 600g Cod fillet (skinless and boneless)
- 150g Flour
- 1 TL Baking powder
- 200ml Beer or sparkling water
- Salz Salt
- Pfeffer Pepper
- Pflanzenöl (zum Frittieren) Vegetable oil (for frying)
- Für die Skordalia: For the Skordalia:
- 400g Potatoes (cooked and mashed)
- 4 Garlic cloves (minced)
- 100ml Olive oil
- 2 EL Lemon juice
- Salz Salt
Instructions
- For the skordalia: Combine mashed potatoes, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl until a creamy consistency is reached. Add a little water if needed.
- Cut cod into approx. 10 cm pieces, season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Gradually add the beer or sparkling water, stirring to form a smooth batter.
- Heat oil in a deep pot or fryer to 180°C.
- Dip the fish pieces in the batter and fry in the hot oil until golden brown and crispy (approx. 5-7 minutes).
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve the fried cod with the skordalia.
