  1. Halve and seed bell peppers, or cut lids off tomatoes and scoop out the insides.
  2. Für die Füllung: Zwiebel und Knoblauch in etwas Olivenöl andünsten. Hackfleisch hinzufügen und krümelig braten. Vom Herd nehmen.
  3. Reis, gehackte Petersilie (und Minze), Salz, Pfeffer und die Hälfte der stückigen Tomaten zur Hackfleischmischung geben. Gut vermischen.
  4. Carefully stuff the peppers or tomatoes with the filling.
  5. Lightly grease a baking dish. Place the stuffed vegetables in the dish.
  6. Pour the remaining crushed tomatoes, water/broth, and remaining olive oil into the baking dish.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil (not necessary for tomatoes) and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for another 15-20 minutes, until the vegetables are tender and the filling is cooked.
  9. Serve hot.
