Ingredients
- 500g Spaghetti or other long pasta
- 500g Ground beef
- 1 Large onion (finely chopped)
- 2 Garlic cloves (minced)
- 400g Canned tomatoes (diced)
- 150ml Red wine (optional)
- 2 EL Tomato paste
- 1 TL dried oregano
- 1/2 TL ground cinnamon
- Olivenöl Olive oil
- Salz Salt
- Pfeffer Pepper
- Parmesan (gerieben, zum Servieren) Parmesan cheese (grated, for serving)
Instructions
- Set water to boil for the spaghetti and cook according to package directions.
- Meanwhile, heat some olive oil in a large pot or deep skillet.
- Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up into crumbles, until browned. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until softened (approx. 5 minutes).
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.
- Deglaze with red wine (if using) and let it reduce briefly.
- Add the diced tomatoes, oregano, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat and let it cook for approx. 20-25 minutes, until thickened.
- Drain the cooked spaghetti and add it directly to the meat sauce.
- Toss everything together well and serve onto plates. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
