Ingredients
- 200g Durum semolina
- 500ml Water
- 1/2 TL Salt
- 80g Unsalted butter
- 4 EL Honey
- 1/2 TL Cardamom powder
- 1 Prise Saffron threads
- 2 EL Chopped almonds
- 1 EL Rose water
Instructions
- In a medium-sized pot, bring the water to a rolling boil and add the salt. Ensure the salt is fully dissolved.
- Gradually whisk the durum semolina into the boiling water in a slow stream to prevent lumps from forming. Stir vigorously with a whisk for 2-3 minutes.
- Reduce the heat to low, add the cardamom powder and saffron threads, and let the semolina cook, stirring occasionally, for about 10-12 minutes until it is thick and creamy. If desired, stir in the rose water and mix well.
- Meanwhile, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. The butter should just melt, not brown.
- Immediately spoon the aseeda into individual serving bowls. Using a spoon, create a small well in the center of each serving.
- Drizzle each serving generously with melted butter and honey. Garnish with chopped almonds and serve immediately while warm.
