Ingredients
- 300 g All-purpose flour
- 150 ml Hot water
- 250 g Ground pork
- 150 g Shrimp
- 2 cm Ginger
- 2 EL Soy sauce
- 1 EL Sesame oil
- 1 TL Cornstarch
- 1/2 TL White pepper
- 1 Prise Sugar
- 2 EL Green onions
Instructions
- For the dough, place the flour in a large bowl. Gradually add the hot water, stirring with chopsticks until crumbles form. Then, knead with your hands to form a smooth dough and let it rest, covered, for 20 minutes.
- For the filling, peel, devein, and finely chop the shrimp. Grate the ginger and finely slice the green onions. In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, white pepper, sugar, and green onions, mixing well.
- On a lightly floured surface, shape the dough into a long log and divide it into 20-25 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a thin circle (about 7-8 cm in diameter).
- Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough into half-moons and press the edges firmly together, or create small pleats to seal the dim sum.
- Line a steamer with parchment paper or lightly grease the bottoms with oil to prevent the dim sum from sticking. Arrange the dim sum in the steamer with some space in between.
- Bring water to a wok or pot to a boil. Place the steamer over it and steam the dim sum for 8-10 minutes, until cooked through and the wrappers appear slightly translucent.
- Serve the dim sum immediately while hot with soy sauce or your preferred dipping sauce. Enjoy!
