Ingredients
- 150 g Unsalted butter, softened
- 150 g Granulated sugar
- 4 Eggs (medium)
- 150 g All-purpose flour
- 50 g Cornstarch
- 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
- 1 Prise Pinch of salt
- 3 g Baking powder
- Puderzucker Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F) conventional heat. Grease and flour a 22-24 cm springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and vanilla sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, incorporating each egg completely before adding the next. This ensures a light and airy texture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared springform pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for about 35-40 minutes in the preheated oven. To check for doneness, insert a wooden skewer into the center; if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. If the cake is browning too quickly, you can reduce the temperature by 10°C during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Before serving, dust generously with powdered sugar. The cake should be completely cooled before serving.
