Ingredients
- 500 ml heavy cream
- 60 g sugar
- 1 vanilla bean
- 3 Blatt gelatin sheets
- 1 Prise salt
- 100 g fresh berries
- 2 TL powdered sugar
- 50 ml cold water
Instructions
- Soak the gelatin sheets in a bowl of cold water for about 5-10 minutes until softened. Ensure the sheets are fully submerged.
- Slit the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Combine cream, sugar, vanilla seeds, and the scraped vanilla bean pod in a saucepan. Gently heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved and the cream is steaming lightly (do not boil).
- Remove the saucepan from the heat. Squeeze out the excess water from the softened gelatin and stir it into the warm cream mixture until completely dissolved. Remove the vanilla bean pod.
- Pour the panna cotta mixture evenly into four molds or glasses. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until set.
- To serve, carefully loosen the edges of the panna cotta with a knife. Briefly dip the molds in warm water and invert onto dessert plates.
- Garnish with fresh berries and sprinkle with a little powdered sugar, if desired, for an appealing presentation.
