クーララキア(ギリシャ風バタークッキー)
クーララキアは、ギリシャの伝統的な三つ編み状のバタークッキーで、特にイースターによく食べられますが、一年中楽しめます。ほんのり甘く、バターの風味が豊かで、レモンやバニラの香りがほのかにするのが特徴です。

材料
- All-purpose flour
- Unsalted butter, softened
- Sugar
- Eggs
- Baking powder
- Vanilla extract
- Zest of half a lemon
- 1-2 tbsp Milk (if needed)
- 1 Egg, beaten (for brushing)
- Sesame seeds (for sprinkling, optional)
作り方
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar with an electric mixer or stand mixer until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract and lemon zest and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter-sugar mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined into a dough. Add 1-2 tbsp of milk if the dough is too stiff.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to make it easier to shape.
- Roll the dough into strands about 1-1.5 cm thick and shape them into braids or simply bend them into S-shapes.
- Place the shaped koulourakia on the prepared baking sheets.
- Brush the cookies with the beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until lightly golden brown. They should not become too dark.
- Let the koulourakia cool completely on the baking sheet before storing in an airtight container.
