Kreatopsomo (Meat Bread)
A hearty and filling dish that mixes ground meat with bread and spices and bakes it into a loaf. This is a traditional Sunday dinner that is often served for breakfast or brunch. The flavors develop wonderfully during baking.

Ingredients
- 500g Ground beef
- 200g Ground pork
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced
- 100g Stale bread, soaked in water and squeezed dry
- 2 Eggs
- 1/4 Tasse Fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 TL Dried oregano
- 1/2 TL Ground cumin
- Salz und Pfeffer nach Geschmack Salt and pepper to taste
- 50g Grated cheese (e.g., Kefalotyri or Parmesan)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef and pork.
- Add chopped onion, garlic, soaked bread, eggs, parsley, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Mix the ingredients well until thoroughly combined. Do not overmix.
- Place the mixture into a greased loaf pan or onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, shaping it into a loaf.
- Sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes, until the meat is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 70°C (160°F).
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
